Among the Trees started as a text thread. A few of us wanted an excuse to get out of town, camp by the lake, bring some speakers, and access our gremlin mode.
Now we’re heading into year three. More people have joined, but it still feels like the same gathering; swim during the day, play games, cook together, wander between camp sites, and dance under the trees when the sun goes down.
It’s not trying to be a giant festival. It’s friends, and friends of friends, making a weekend together. It’s a community event in the truest sense. This works because everyone brings something to it. A playlist, a game, a meal, a conversation, a little joy.
It’s all of ours. We create the experience together. A little messy. A little magical. Mostly just good people in the woods.
...Let's access that gremlin mode.
